We offer sunrise flights in the Springs seasonally from June through September, and they typically last an hour. We are also the official ride operator of Colorado’s biggest balloon festival, Labor Day Lift Off, which happens every September at Memorial Park.

Each of our pilots holds an FAA commercial pilot’s license and an up-to-date second-class medical certificate, and they boast a collective flight time of over 100,000 hours.
After spending so much time in a hot air balloon basket over the Centennial State, our pilots in Colorado Springs know the area’s landmarks and wind patterns incredibly well. Plus, each pilot is required to attend multiple safety seminars, submit to annual flight reviews, and undergo random drug and alcohol testing for added safety. Similarly, our equipment is thoroughly inspected before and after every flight.

Over our 40+ years of operation, Rainbow Ryders has had the honor of being part of some of the world’s largest and most celebrated hot air balloon festivals. Three events that we are the official ride operator of are:
- The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
- The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off
- The Arizona Balloon Classic
We also attend Gallup’s Red Rock Balloon Rally and delight crowds with tethered flights at Phoenix’s Spooktacular Festival. Each festival offers unique experiences.

Where the Journey Starts
Everyone participating in a hot air balloon flight in Colorado Springs is expected to meet the Rainbow Ryders team at 4389 Tutt Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922. For reference, this spot is in the parking lot near Hurts Donuts off of Barnes Rd, which is directly connected to Colorado State Highway 21, also known as Powers Boulevard. Although passengers are ultimately taken to a more spacious launch site nearby, this convenient meeting point provides easy access to guests near and far, many of whom come from places like Manitou Springs, Monument, Woodland Park, Castle Rock, Pueblo, and even Denver.
