Sustainability

Our Sustainability Measures

For over 40 years, Rainbow Ryders has had the honor of soaring above the breathtaking landscapes of the Southwest. Now operating in four different cities, we deeply value this privilege, knowing that the stunning views below are what make hot air balloon flights truly remarkable. At Rainbow Ryders, we are committed to caring for all the landscapes our hot air balloons traverse over, promoting impactful sustainability initiatives to protect these beautiful environments.

Mission Statement

Rainbow Ryders will work hard to preserve our flight areas and the surrounding landscapes, as we showcase them daily. From recycling and reducing fossil fuel use to cleaning up litter, Rainbow Ryders promises to continue protecting the great outdoors. We believe that by raising awareness and encouraging sustainable practices, we can inspire others to join us in our mission to preserve the environment.

Green Initatives

To help conserve and sustain our beautiful landscapes, Rainbow Ryders has launched and continues to run simple yet impactful initiatives. Three of the biggest examples include:

  • Safely recycling all glass champagne bottles after our customary post-flight toasts. We recycle anywhere from 4 to 40 empty glass bottles daily, eliminating litter and reducing harm to nearby wildlife.
  • Using solar energy at our office locations, converting to a cleaner and more renewable energy source that reduces reliance on fossil fuels and decreases pollutants.
  • Routinely holding litter clean-up days where our chase crew and pilots explore our flight areas and pick up any trash to keep the ground clean and protect all wildlife that wanders through.

Through these ongoing efforts like these, Rainbow Ryders remains dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment, helping keep the breathtaking landscapes we fly over clean for future generations to enjoy.
