It's the most colorful weekend of the year!
You won't want to miss the early morning balloon launches fill the city skyline and the Saturday evening balloon glows.
Please note: Due to insurance requirements, we cannot fly anyone who is pregnant or under the age of 5 years old. Due to the nature of ballooning, every flight path is unique and a certain flight path cannot be guaranteed.

Welcome to an experience that knows no bounds at the Labor Day Lift Off Hot Air Balloon Festival! We are thrilled to offer an inclusive adventure that embraces the freedom of the skies for everyone. Picture yourself gently rising above the festival grounds, surrounded by the vibrant hues of dawn, as your hot air balloon gracefully takes flight. Our commitment to accessibility means that everyone can revel in this breathtaking experience. Our specially designed accessible balloon basket with a professionally installed 4-point harness ensures that wheelchair users can comfortably and safely join in the excitement of ballooning.
The balloon has space for one chair and 2-3 guests, depending on weight.

For nine years, Rainbow Ryders has proudly served as the official hot air balloon ride operator for Colorado Springs’ most colorful event of the year! The Labor Day Lift Off, held annually at Memorial Park, is Colorado Springs’ largest hot air balloon festival. This three-day event is packed with family-friendly activities for all to enjoy. Each morning, Rainbow Ryders offers ascension flights, launching alongside over 70 other balloons, providing a breathtaking view. After the morning session, join us for the enchanting evening balloon glow, including vendors, live local music, contests, and more!
Cross off a bucket list item with Rainbow Ryders and participate in taking a sunrise hot air balloon flight launching from Memorial Park during Labor Day Lift Off! Enjoy a smooth check in process at our check in tent located west of the main launch field. From there you will be escorted to your assigned balloon where you get to greet your pilot and watch the fascinating inflation process! Get your cameras ready as you will launch, soaring with many balloons of all shapes, colors, and sizes. Take in the beauty of Colorado Springs as you drift over multiple landscapes, with the opportunity to see known landmarks such as Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and much more! Once you gracefully land, you will be greeted with a celebratory toast! Rainbow Ryders’ balloon chase crew will then transport you back to Memorial Park, where you can later attend the evening balloon glow! Taking a hot air balloon flight with Rainbow Ryders during Labor Day Lift Off is unlike any other experience, providing a safe yet unforgettable experience and nothing but smiles for all passengers.
To ensure a safe bucket list experience, Rainbow Ryders has required safety protocols for pilots, crew, and equipment! All of our pilots are qualified with an FAA commercial pilot’s license, an updated second-class medical certificate, and a required minimum of 500 flight hours. Each pilot is required to undergo random drug and alcohol testing, annual flight reviews, and annual safety seminars. Our ground crew attends safety seminars as well as equipment meetings to ensure the safety of all passengers. Our equipment is regularly inspected before and after each flight. Our impeccable safety record remains intact due to our commitment to safety standards.
Booking a hot air balloon ride during Labor Day Lift Off is simple! Rainbow Ryders is proud to be the official ride operator for Labor Day Lift Off. Offering shared basket flights which hold 10-14 passengers per basket or private flights which hold 2-4 passengers. Not only are there hot air balloon flights available with Rainbow Ryders at Labor Day Lift Off, there are multiple family friendly activities that all can participate in. Start your morning off the right way with a colorful drone show bright and early. Next, participate in an exciting opening ceremony followed by the jaw dropping Balloon Lift Off. Seize the chance to watch RC Balloons fly and then feel the thrill of watching skydivers land on Memorial Park Field! Finish out the morning session with water events on Prospect Lake! Indulge on many different vendors offering meals, drinks and the best snacks! Sign up for the Orangetheory 5k, watch local bands take the stage, and enjoy watching Memorial Park light up during the evening balloon glow.
General admission to the festival is free! Pre-paid parking is available on the Labor Day Lift Off website and will be first come, first served each the day of the event. Handicap parking is free, and first come first serve. An event map is also available on the Labor Day Lift Off website.
