What should I know about Tethered Balloon Rides
With Rainbow Ryders’ tethered flights, you can expect a process similar to our standard flights, with a few fun differences. The same physical requirements are implemented with those being; being physically able to climb into the basket without assistance, standing throughout the duration of the ride, as well as being able to withstand the impact of the landing which can be compared to jumping from a dining chair to the ground.

How does it work?
Our experienced crew and pilot will inflate the balloon using high powered fans and securely anchor the basket to three vehicles. Once the balloon is inflated, you’ll excitedly board the basket, which stands about four feet tall. Then, you’ll gently lift off, soaring about 50 feet above the ground. Grab your cameras to capture the world around you! From this vantage point, you’ll enjoy a stunning 360-degree aerial view for about 5-10 minutes before safely returning to the ground. Once landed, you are able to hop out of the basket and watch the next group take flight, or you can hop back in line to fly again!
Safety
With every flight, even tethered, the safety of all passengers remains Rainbow Ryders’ number one priority. To ensure each tethered flight is as safe as possible, our highly qualified pilots will pre-approve the required 200 ft by 200 ft space to confirm it is free of any obstructions. Pilots will also closely monitor the weather to guarantee ideal flying conditions. All of Rainbow Ryders’ pilots are certified with a commercial pilot’s license as well as a current second class medical certificate!
