We have answers!
1. How do I Book a Flight?
To book your “Experience of a Lifetime” please give us a call at (800) 725-2477 or you can book through our reservation page. Space is limited and the price is subject to availability!!
2. Where do we meet?
We ask that you meet us inside Balloon Fiesta Park at our tent. Click here for directions.
3. What time do we meet?
We ask that you meet us at our tent between 5:00 and 5:30 am the morning of your flight. Since crowds can reach in excess of 100,000 people, arriving sooner is better.
4. What should we wear?
You should wear casual clothing and comfortable shoes (not sandals). We suggest light layers of warm clothing so you can easily adjust to the temperature as the sun comes up. The coolest you will be is on the ground. Many Balloon Fiesta-goers wear hats, some bring gloves. Once you’re in flight, the burners tend to keep the baskets nice and warm.
5. Can we bring cameras and video cameras?
Yes! Bring a fully-charged battery and extra disk space – you will need it!
6. How do you get into the basket?
Hot air balloon baskets are not outfitted with doors and therefore the only way to board the balloon is by going up and over the side of the basket. There is no graceful way to do it! Just up and over. Don’t worry….our courteous staff and crew are happy to assist you.
7. How many people can fit in your baskets?
We have baskets that range in size. The smaller baskets can carry anywhere from 2-4 people and the largest basket can carry 12-14 people.
8. How long is the flight?
For your flight you will be in the for about an hour to an hour and a half, then after your flight we will bring you back to the park for a celebratory toast. You should plan on being with us for a total of 4 hours from the time you meet us at our tent to the time we bring you back to the field.
9. Where will the balloon land?
A balloon flight is dependent on wind speed and direction. Every flight is different and our landing sites vary.
10. What is a chase crew?
Our chase crew are Rainbow Ryders employees who follow the balloon via radio contact with the pilot throughout the balloon flight. They also meet you at landing, pack up the balloon and return you to the original launch site.
11. How will we get back to the launch site after our flight?
The chase crew will follow the balloon while you’re flying and meet at the landing site. We then invite you to help with the packing of the balloon. After the balloon is loaded into the truck and trailer, the passengers will board the van and head back to the launch site.
12 Should we tip our balloon pilot and chase crew?
Like any other service provider, a gratuity is always appreciated. A typical tip would be 10% per person. Like the saying goes “if you like the ride, tip your guide!”
13. What happens if the weather is bad?
Ballooning is very weather dependent. If we do cancel due to the weather, we will check for availability and try to move you to another day during Balloon Fiesta. If we are unable to rebook your flight for another day, you will be refunded all your money minus a $30 non-refundable booking fee per person.
Rain or shine, check out the Anderson Abruzzo Balloon Museum adjacent to the Balloon Fiesta field…it’s INDOORS and it’s fun for kids AND adults!
